The busiest and liveliest resort on the island, Puerto del

6km of sandy beaches to 3km of bars, restaurants and night spots. The resort has something to offer all the family.

Things To Do

During the day the resort has a variety of activities for all the family, numerous watersports and rides are available on the beach, from the harbour diving, fishing and boat trips are offered; and in the old town the Biosfera Shopping Plaza has four floors of shops and bars, as well as a kid’s play area. Located just outside Puerto del Carmen, Rancho Texas is a Western Theme Park, featuring a nature park, an Indian-style village with tepees and theme restaurants as well as in the evenings, entertainment for all the family with country and western music, line dancing and a lasso show.

Nightlife

‘The Strip’, as the Avenida de las Playas is known, runs along the beachfront and is a 3km (2 mile) procession of shops, bars, cafes, restaurants and night spots.

Getting Around

Puerto del Carmen stretches from the old port in the north, 5km (3 miles) south to Playa Matagorda. Regular buses run along the Avenida de las Playas, but the centre of the resort is best explored on foot as many of the streets are narrow and steep. A regular bus service also runs to Arrecife and Playa Blanca.
