Montego Bay Holidays

Montego Bay is located on the North coast of Jamaica and is Jamaica's second city. It is a lively and laid back resort which offers a vast choice of activities as well as magnificent beaches. This resort would suit those that like to party but who also want to relax and enjoy a fun filled holiday.

The Resort

The the city itself is full of crowded and lively streets and there is a hotel area of about a mile and a half running from the town past the Doctor's Cave Beach and out to the Dead End Bar.

The city is colourful and busy with markets, shops and craft stalls and is perfect for those who like to enjoy the local atmosphere and buzz of the city.

The Beaches

Montego Bay is the most established resort in Jamaica and has three main beaches, Walter Fletcher Beach, Corwall Beach and the most famous Doctors Cave.

Doctor's Cave Beach is famed and attracts celebrates from all over the world due to its clear and sparkling water.

In recent years, many beach clubs have developed in the area, each with its own special character. Walter Fletcher Beach is closest to town on Gloucester Avenue. Cornwall Beach is just a little beyond Doctor's Cave, Tropical Beach and Rose Hall Beach lie further out of town.

Things To Do

For those who like shopping there are plenty of outlets for gifts and souvenirs. The City Centre Plaza offers a good choice of shops and there are other shops at the Holiday Village and Half Moon Shopping Village.

The main Crafts Market is on Harbour Street in town but there are two smaller ones in the hotel area, one next to Fantasy Hotel and another on Fort Street on the site of a 17th century fort.

For those seeking theme park action there is the Aquasol Theme Park which is set on the dazzling white sands of Walter Fletcher beach. There is a go-kart track with 10 Honda bumper carts and water sports such as kayaking, parasailing, banana boating and glass bottom boating in addition to trampolines, wave runners, beach volleyball and two professional tennis courts.

There are plenty of excursions including the Underseas Tours which offers air conditioned underwater viewing of the coral reefs and marine life, the Bob Marley experience and Museum, sugar plantations, bird sanctuaries and there are also plenty of horseback excursions taking rides through ancient sugar plantations.
