The bustling village of Kalithea is set on the western Kassandra peninsula and boasts beautiful sandy beaches and numerous shops, bars and tavernas. This resort is a friendly and lively resort which is popular with sun seekers of all ages.

The Beaches

Kalithea beach is a popular choice with swimmers and children, and is attractively set on a wide bay backed by forested hills with fine views across the gulf. There is a wide range of watersports including scuba diving, paragliding, waterskiing and windsurfing.

Eating and Drinking

Most restaurants and bars are found on the main resort road and also down along the waterfront, the two areas divided by a short but quite steep climb. Some restaurants can be found to the south of Kalithea beach.

Kalithea enjoys a good choice of nightlife with the village being quite lively in the main summer months. There is a mix of music bars, family oriented entertainment and a couple of discos open until until the early hours.

Things To Do

There are many historical sites to be found including the remains of the Doric sanctuary to Zeus, by the sea. Other popular excursions include tours of the atmospheric inland mountain villages, boat trips to Mount Athos and the monasteries of Athos (men only). There is a regular bus service running from Kalithea beach to Thessalonica for shopping and excellent museums. Buses also run to Paliouri on the tip of the peninsular, handy for visiting other Kassandra Peninsula beaches.
