Halkidiki Holidays

Halkidiki is found in a region of northern Greece boasting endless sandy beaches, picturesque villages and many areas of historic interest. Most of the family friendly resorts are situated upon the most westerly peninsular, Kassandra.

The Beaches

Holidays in Halkidiki have a combination of sand and shingle beaches that run down the length of the Kassandra peninsular bordering the crystal clear gulfs of the Aegean.

Things To Do

There is plenty to do in Halkidiki including enjoying the numerous sporting facilities or exploring the island's numerous ancient ruins.

The nightlife is varied, with numerous tavernas and bars, and also several nightclubs.

The Resorts

Halkidiki has three characteristic peninsulas (Kassandra, Sithonia, Athos) which are surrounded by the Aegean Sea.

The most visited is Kassandra, to the west. Here, beaches are framed by turquiose waters and green hillsides that give way to tranquil villages and and friendly resorts.

The next peninsula, Sithonia, is wilder and more rugged and offer secluded coves and sandy bays. The steep pine covered hills behind the beaches are perfect for walkers and outdoor-lovers.

And finally, there’s Mount Athos, the easternmost of Halkidiki’s peninsulas. This holy region is a land of monasteries and is off limits to most ordinary visitors. The only way to experience it is on a cruise along its shores.
