The large white sandy beaches, great watersports and
year round climate make Fuerteventura a popular choice
for families of all ages.
Cheap Holidays to Fuerteventura
Corralejo is the liveliest of the resorts and popular with British tourists, it currently has the only waterpark on the island, as well as a 7km nature reserve made up of sandy beaches and dunes. Caleta de Fuste has a more low-key nightlife, centred around its bars and restaurants, and the man-made sheltered beach make it ideal for families. The area of Jandia has undoubtedly the best beaches on the island and host to the Windsurfing & Kiteboarding World Championships every July. El Cotillo a former fishing village offers miles of unspoilt beaches, and a more relaxed environment with just a few bars and restaurants.
Things To Do
Fuerteventura offers a host of activities and the perfect conditions for windsurfing, kiteboarding and surfing, the most popular watersports on the island. Further sporting activities available include horse-riding, mountain biking and deep sea fishing as well as 5 golf courses to choose from, ideal for keeping the more active family members entertained.
When To Go
Carnival time occurs between the months of February and March; when the island comes alive with colourful processions and celebrations, making great entertainment for all the family. Later in the year, usually on the weekend nearest to the 8th of November, the Fuerteventura Kite Festival takes place on La Playa del Burra, a beach situated in the dunes of Corralejo and lasts for three days.
