There are plenty of excursions in and around Samana including horseriding, hiking through the mountains to a waterfall at El Limon and at certain times of the year humpback whale watching.

For those seeking their holiday souvenirs and gifts there are a number of boutiques in Las Terrenas and Samana as well as Las Galeras, although many of the hotels also have gift shops selling local arts and crafts.
