Things To Do
Various excursions and boat trips are available; a trip to the divided city of Nicosia in the north is about one hours drive away. Visit the Roman ruins at Kourion or Kolossi Castle, said to be where Richard the Lionheart married princess Berengaria of Navarre, or 19km away are the ancient ruins of Curium.
The Beaches
Limassol and the surrounding area has a choice of shingle and sandy beaches, including Lady’s Mile beach about 15 minutes drive from the town centre its flat shallow waters are ideal for windsurfing and Governors Beach to the east of the city, with calm and shallow waters making it safe for young children and has a choice of restaurants available.
