The Resorts

Ideal for families of all ages Agios Nikolaos has plenty to see and do, with great shopping, lively nightlife and numerous beaches close by.

Gouves offers a more relaxed pace, with charming local tavernas and a selection of bars.

Malia is well known as the premier party spot on Crete and has a lively nightlife with a wide choice of bars and clubs well suited to those with teenagers.

Hersonissos has a number of small sand and shingle beaches, plenty of watersports and a wide choice of nightlife.

Stalis is located between Hersonissos and Malia, and with a good, frequent bus service which runs along Crete’s north coast, makes this an ideal base for exploring.

Chania is steeped in history, wander around the Old Town and discover ruins from the Minoan era, medieval fortifications, a 17th century fort and a 15th century lighthouse on the harbour.

Rethymnon boasts the longest stretch of sand on the island, plenty of shops, bars and restaurants as well as a pretty Venetian harbour lined with seafood restaurants.

Things To Do

There are four main water parks on the island of Crete, three are in the east of the island and one is in the west close to Chania Airport.

Popular excursions available include; a trip to Spinalonga, the island is steeped in history and located just off the coast of Elounda and Agios Nikolaos; the Samaria Gorge, a 16km-long river canyon provides the perfect setting for hiking; and the ruins of Knossos Palace, one of the island’s most famous attractions.
