Nerja Holidays

With all the ingredients for a relaxing holiday, Nerja is ideal for families looking for a traditional Spanish coastal town away from the bustling tourist resorts.

The Beaches

Nerja has 15km of coastline with a choice of seven beaches, from long stretches of sand to small hidden coves; one of the most popular and well-equipped is the Burrianna Beach located at the far east of town, it offers a full range of watersports including scuba diving and boat cruises along the coast.

Located at the bottom of the town centre is Torrecilla Beach, ideal for families with young children this beach has a wide stretch of sand with shallow and generally calm water, from here a promenade takes you along to the quieter Playazo beach, there are few facilities here and just a couple of bars and the beach is a mixture of small to large pebbles with some sandy areas.

Things To Do

There are plenty of interesting day trips and local excursions to be enjoyed from the resort such as the caves of Nerja located just 3km from town or the picturesque mountain village of Frigiliana which is 7km away, alternatively the Axarquia area offers plenty of trails for walkers of varying levels.

For some holiday fun try one of the many water or theme parks situated further along the coast, such as Aqualand in Torremolinos and Tivoli World Amusement Park in Benalmadena.

Further amenities include a go-karting track situated just 20 minutes drive from Nerja, as well as two circuits for adults and children, it also offers a mini-golf course, trampoline, amusement games and a children’s play area.

Fiestas

Two of the many fiestas which take place throughout the year are the festival of San Isidro celebrated on May 15th with a parade starting at the Balcon de Europa and ending at the caves with a large party, and the Nerja Caves Festival celebrated during July with performance from various national and international artists.

Nerja

Perched on a cliff above a string of sandy coves, Nerja has maintained its small-town atmosphere while still offering a wide selection of bars, cafes and restaurants ranging from traditional local dishes to a wide variety of international cuisines.
