Benalmadena

The resort is made up of three distinct areas, the old town of Benalmadena Pueblo, the coastal area of Benalmadena Costa and the commercial zone of Arroyo Miel. Benalmadena Costa is the main tourist area and home to a large marina that’s surrounded by a variety of shops, bars, restaurants and nightclubs. Further nightlife can be found in the area known as the 24-hour square, this aptly named area is host to numerous disco bars open until the early hours.

The Beach

Benalmadena has over 9km of beaches to choose from, some of which are in small coves and others offering plenty of watersports and tourist facilities. From Benalmadena marina you can walk all the way along a flat promenade to Torremolinos with plenty of bars and restaurants along the way.

Things To Do

There are plenty of entertainment options in and around Benalmadena, such as the Sea Life Aquarium located next to the marina, it contains a shark reef, a tank with rays, a sea snake enclosure and more, also just 2km inland is the Tivoli World Amusement Park offering a variety of rides and shows, it also has an area especially for younger children. Further amenities include the Selwo Marina with dolphins and sea lions, and the aerial cable car, its starting point is next to the Tivoli World Amusement Park running to the peak of Mount Calamorro in about 15minutes, at the top there is a cafeteria with terrace, donkey rides, birds of prey and horse-riding exhibitions. For culture and history spend a day enjoying the many sights of Malaga which include a cathedral, several churches, museums and the Moorish Alcazaba fortress. Alternatively take a day trip to a Spanish City such as Seville, Cordoba, Ronda or Granada with their Moorish palaces and cobbled streets.
