With its low-key nightlife and long sandy beach, make Santa Susanna a popular choice with families. Ideally situated for exploring the area, Barcelona is 75km to the south and Lloret de Mar is 10km to the north.

The area has a host of entertainment options of the cultural and holiday fun kind, with waterparks, an aquatic zoo and even the Port Aventura theme park all within easy reach. There are plenty of interesting day trips and local excursions to be enjoyed from the resort or travel further afield to the major visitor attractions of Barcelona and the Benedictine monastery in the mountainous region of Montserrat. Santa Susanna is home to the ‘Activ Natura Adventure Park’ which provides assault courses with varying degrees of difficulty catering for children, teens and adults as well as horse riding, mountain biking and orienteering.

Costa Maresme

Santa Susanna is actually located on the Costa Maresme, which is commonly regarded as being part of the better-known Costa Brava. The Costa Maresme extends from just north of Barcelona, 65km northeast to the southern boundary of Costa Brava.

The old town of Santa Susanna, set back from the beachfront retains much of its original charm with narrow cobbled streets, ancient buildings and monuments. The resort is sandwiched between the Mediterranean and the ‘Massif Montnegre’ a national park which attract nature lovers, hikers, mountain bikers and horse riders.

The Beach

Santa Susanna has 2km of sandy beach which merges into the neighbouring resort of Malgrat de Mar; watersports include windsurfing, water-skiing, parasailing and kayaking and the promenade is well served with bars and restaurants.
