Kalamaki
Ideal for families of all ages,
Kalamaki has a glorious sandy beach,
gently shelving waters and a relaxed
nightlife.
The Resort -
Less
There are plenty of affordable restaurants in Kalamaki with something to suit most tastes, including traditional Greek, English, Chinese and Italian cuisines, as well as the usual fast food outlets. Nightlife here is more low-key than its neighbour Laganas, with tavernas and family friendly bars some offering entertainment.
The Beach -
More
Kalamaki forms a natural extension of the Laganas sandy beach, with plenty of sun-loungers and parasols to rent, as well as several tavernas and restaurants close by. The beach is part of the National Marine Park due to the Loggerhead turtles that nest here and because of this watersports are restricted as well as no access to the beach allowed after sunset.
Things To Do -
More
There are numerous excursions and boat trips available including trips to the mainland, the neighbouring island of Kefalonia, the Blue Caves and Smugglers Cove, trips to nearby beaches where full-on watersports are available and glass bottomed boats for turtle-spotting.
