At the heart of the Golf del Sur lies a 27-hole championship course with bunkers of black volcanic sand and fairways lined with palms, cacti and local flora, there’s also a driving range and crazy golf as well as the Amarillo golf course, while a further five courses are within a 20 minute drive.
The San Blass centre has a wealth of shops, supermarkets, bars and restaurants to choose from. Nightlife is low-key and more family orientated, there’s even free entertainment laid on in the squares during the summer evenings and the bright lights of Playa de las Americas are not far away.
While Golf del Sur may not have its own beach, Playa de las Americas and Los Cristianos have good stretches of sandy beach as well as a wide choice of watersports, they are both just 15 minutes drive away. Alternatively El Medano just a little further is a great natural sandy beach ideal for watching the windsurfers in action.
For non-golfers other activities within or nearby the resort include watersports, horse riding, deep sea fishing, tennis, bowling, karting and cycling.
Tenerife has a host of entertainment options of both the cultural and holiday fun kind, sure to keep all family members happy.
One of the many excursions available is to Teide National Park; Mount Teide is the third biggest volcano in the world which last erupted some 150,000 years ago; alternatively spend the day at sea, dolphin and whale spotting.
Waterparks and theme parks are aplenty in Tenerife, the islands newest waterpark; Siam Park opened in September 2008 in Costa Adeje and is full of thrilling rides and attractions including a wave pool, the Wave Palace for surfers and a children’s pool.
