A trip to Morocco isn’t complete without a visit to one of its famous bazaars; choose from countless stalls selling everything from herbs, spices, leather and clothing, to locally-made goods and crafts.
Alcohol
Although a Muslim country, alcohol is widely available in the tourist hotels, restaurants and bars. It’s worth noting that during the month of Ramadan some bars, restaurants and nightclubs may close.
Speciality Dishes
Some traditional Moroccan dishes include; Couscous, the national dish is made from durum-wheat semolina usually mixed with chicken, lamb or vegetables; Harira, a rich chickpea broth usually accompanied by stacks of fresh dates; Pastilla, filo pastry parcels filled with pigeon meat and dusted with icing sugar; Tagine, slow-cooked meat or vegetable stews; Bstilla, a classic dish made from either chicken or pigeon with eggs, almonds, onions and spices, layered with sheets of filo pastry; and for dessert Kaab el ghzal, crescent-shaped pastries filled with sweet almond paste.
