Once the capital of Menorca, the port town of Ciudadela is overflowing with history, stroll through the cobbled streets and discover Gothic churches, Moorish architecture and tucked away restaurants.
The main harbour road is the major tourist hub, with dozens of restaurants, street cafes and bars. Nightlife here is centred around the harbour area and there are a couple of discos open till the early hours.
Though there’s no beach in Ciudadela just 3km south are small beaches at Cala Santandria and Sa Caleta, both offering a variety of watersports and equipment for hire. Alternatively, Cala’n Forcat and Cala’n Blanes both a little further and popular tourist resorts, beaches here are deep inlets of sand with calm shallow waters great for families with younger children.
