Cala d'Or

Cala d'Or is made up of several coves; the main pedestrian area is by Cala Gran, where you will find the majority of bars, restaurants and shops, although these can also be found around each cove. The largest cove is called Cala Llonga, which has been developed into a large marina with over 500 moorings, and for the more nautical, yacht hire is available.

The main sandy beach is Cala Gran and is situated in front of the pedestrian zone, further on, the cove of Cala Llonga borders the marina, and there around 8 or 9 other smaller sandy coves in the area.

Many visitors take the morning bus to Es Trenc, this sandy beach stretches for almost 5km, you can hire parasols here but there are few facilities. The beach rarely gets packed but is popular with nudists.

Around the 15th August the Fiesta of la Mare de Deu del Mar, which roughly translates as ‘Our Lady of the Sea’, the highlight of which is the maritime procession around the harbour, along with musical concerts and sporting events.

The annual Cala d'Or International Jazz Festival takes place in July.
