Kardamena

All tastes and budgets are catered for here; along with the many British-style cafes offering full English breakfast and the usual fast food outlets, Kardamena has a wide selection of cuisines to choose from, including traditional Greek, Chinese and Italian. Kardamena has a lively nightlife with around 100 pubs and bars on bar street offering a variety of music and entertainment including live sports, bingo, karaoke and quizzes.

The main sandy beach stretches for over 5km and is the longest beach on the island, a good range of watersports are offered including ringos, waterskiing, jet skis and paragliding, there is also a diving centre just outside the resort. For those that don’t like the sand, within the resort there are many swimming pools with snack bars open to the public.

For a fun day out visit the Lido Waterpark, situated near the village of Mastihari about 10 minutes drive away, the waterpark has several slides, a wave pool, a lazy river and a children’s adventure pool. A range of boat trips are available on Kos including a trip to Nissyros Island, famous for its active volcano, scuba diving and trips to the surrounding coastline. There are daily ferries to Bodrum in Turkey as well as the other larger islands of the Dodecanese. Take an excursion to Asclepion 4km away, the most significant archaeological site on the island, once a sanatorium from 500BC to 500AD; or visit the Kos Thermes, 12km south east of Kos town, a sea pool with hot springs is located at the end of a long pebble beach.
