Taba Heights is located on the Sinai Peninsula and sits at the head of the Gulf of Aqaba looking out over to Jordon, Israel and Arabia. Its geological location, sitting on top of three continents, has created very rugged and dramatic scenery. Amongst this dramatic coastline are wonderful hidden coves where you’ll discover beautiful beaches which are quiet and unspoiled, just perfect for relaxing and enjoying life.
Since the early fourteen hundreds Taba was a staging post on the caravan route (for all the faster camels to overtake) where traders would rest and take on board provisions. Although the caravans have long since gone Taba is still a transition town as many Israelis pass through this town to either stay at Taba Heights some 12 miles down the road or explore the rest of the Sinai Peninsula.

The main activities are either based in the hotels or on the sea, although there are some shops and stalls selling local crafts and souvenirs. For good selection of shops in air-conditioned malls head over the border to the cosmopolitan Israeli resort of Eilat. Eilat has all the top Israeli chain stores selling books, clothes, designer labels clothes and cosmetics. What makes Eilat more attractive is that it is a designated duty free zone!
Family Entertainment and Trips -

People come to Taba for the relaxed and peaceful atmosphere. So nightclubs and loud noise are not really an issue here. Many of the activities are either water based - kite-surfing, diving or snorkelling or hotel based – kids clubs, relaxing by the pool or it’s privately owned beach enjoying its relaxing atmosphere.
The options for eating out in Taba are very limited. It does not offer the same type of choice for eating out as resorts such as Hurghada or Sharm El Shiekh. So no pizzerias, no fast food outlets and no Chinese restaurants. However, if you want a change of scenery in terms of eating, you can visit other hotels.
If you want to venture further afield, visit St Catherine Monastery where it is believed that Moses witnessed the burning bush. Forty miles south west of Taba is the Coloured Canyon - appropriately named! Here you'll see the amazingly coloured sand stone rock formations created by different minerals in the rocks. Another place to visit is the Island of the Pharaoh which is a couple of miles south east of Taba. Here the crusaders, in the early 12 century, built a fortress which has now recently been restored.
