Platja d’Aro, along with neighbouring towns of Castell and S’Agaro all have a wide selection of tourist services on offer, with high quality shopping, cafes and restaurants, as well a multitude of pubs and discos and a wide range of entertainment amenities with theme and waterparks.
Platja Gran the main beach of the resort stretches for some 2km, with a further selection of sandy coves either side. The main beach provides all the necessary facilities, including showers, footbaths, toilets, bars and restaurants, children’s play areas and for hire pedalos, loungers and parasols.
The Costa Brava has a host of entertainment options of the cultural and holiday fun kind, with waterparks, an aquatic zoo and even the Port Aventura theme park (about 2hrs drive) all within easy reach. There are plenty of interesting day trips and local excursions to be enjoyed from the resort or travel further afield to the major visitor attractions of Barcelona and the Benedictine monastery in the mountainous region of Montserrat.
