The Beach -

Separating the two main beaches in Calpe is the large ‘Calpe Rock’ or the ‘Penon de Ifach’ which sits right on Calpe's beach. Ideal for families the main sandy beaches offer all the usual facilities and are backed by a promenade lined with bars, shops and restaurants.

Or for a fun day out visit one of Benidorm’s theme parks which include the Terra Mitica theme park, Terra Natura wildlife park, Aqua Natura and Aqualandia water parks as well as the Mundomar marine park.

Like most Spanish towns and villages Calpe has its fair share of fiestas and celebrations; during June is the midsummer festival with festivities including children’s entertainment, live music and bull-running, July 16th is the festival of Virgen del Carmen with a street procession, fireworks display and bull-running in the port, then on August 5th the festival in honour of Calpe’s patron saint ‘La Virgen de las Nieves’ takes place with many fireworks, outdoor parties and again bull-running, and during October the Beer Festival takes place with folk music, beer and German gastronomy, dancing and fairground attractions and later in the month the Moors and Christians Festival where battles are re-enacted using noisy replica weapons.
